2009, 91 Parker Points
Better, and with a modern profile, the 2009 Domaine Le Clos de Caveau Vacqueyras Carmin Brillant is a blend of Grenache and Syrah that’s aged for 10 months in small French oak Barrels. While the elevage shows on the nose, it’s very well done and shows hints of vanilla and graphite as opposed to raw wood. Beautiful red fruits, spice, chocolate, and roasted meats fill in the remainder of the bouquet and the wine is medium to full boded with notable acidity, a well put together mid-palate, and a chewy, long finish. I’m a fan and this excellent Vacqueyras should have upwards of a decade of prime drinking. 91 Parker Points.
